More digital competences for seniors: Under this title, the institute for police and security research (IPoS), in cooperation with the Bremen Police, the seniors’ representatives of the Borgfeld Advisory Committee and the Digital Ambulances Network (“Netzwerk Digitalambulanzen”), invited citizens aged 60 years and above to an informational event in the “Stiftungsdorf Borgfeld”. Around 60 senior citizens followed this invitation. The prevention representative of the Bremen police, Ulrike Dunecke, provided information about tricks and traps on the Internet, from fake stores to digital grandchild fraud (“Enkelbetrug”). The event took place within the framework of the “DigiComp” project funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, a joint project of IPoS, Erciyes University in Kayseri/Turkey and the University of Barcelona. The IPoS had previously interviewed senior citizens, police officers and other experts from Bremen on digital competences and dangers on the Internet. Further training courses are to be held in Borgfeld by the Digital Ambulances Network, which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Domestic Afffairs to improve the digital competence of seniors after the opening event in the “Stiftungsdorf”. For this purpose, a cooperation agreement has been established with the “Bürgerverein Borgfeld”, which will be the sponsor of these training sessions.
